Project Description

Removal of Asbestos Containing Materials from Domestic Properties.

Over the previous 8 years Enviraz have successfully tendered for and been directly awarded River Clyde Homes contract for the Provision of Asbestos Removal Services. Enviraz have undertaken the removal and disposal of Asbestos products from a variety of locations within domestic premises throughout our clients property portfolio within the Inverclyde area. These works ranged from small non-licensed works, to large scale licensed asbestos removal projects.

Working in partnership with River Clyde Homes, it is our goal to provide a flexible, reliable solution to our client’s asbestos management problems experienced during routine refurbishment and improvements programs. This included planned works, booked in weeks in advance, or short notice / emergency works.

Enviraz undertakes work conscientiously, with full appreciation of the environment including ensures our actions cause minimal disruption to River Clyde Homes employees, tenants, visitors and 3rd parties in the vicinity of our working areas.

Working collaboratively with our client is key, as ensuring the highest levels of coordination and communication, enables us to provide an exemplary service within this sensitive environment.

Responsibility

Principal Contractor

During each and every job, Enviraz are employed as principal contractor for the site and are responsible for all elements of the works, including planning, co-ordinating, managing subcontracted trades, provision of welfare, ensuring site security and liaising with client appointed UKAS accredited laboratory / analysts.

All works are undertaken in line with HSE legislation and industry best practice to ensure that on completion of works (licensed and non-licensed), each property is safe for reoccupation.

Throughout the framework Enviraz utilise our Waste Carriers License to transfer waste from the site to our Transfer Station in Hillington for storage and final disposal in line with our Waste Management License.

Innovation

Enviraz are wary of the sensitive environment we were operating within, and made relevant changes to our working methods and practices to ensure minimum disruption and inconvenience to River Clyde Homes employees, tenants, visitors and affected 3rd parties. Working closely with our client we were able to implement a program of decanting and relocation of tenants to ensure minimal disruption during our works. This included elderly tenants or those who required additional support needs during the decanting process.

Enviraz spare no expense in ensuring that our operatives are provided with premium plant, equipment and consumables. This ensures we are always at the cutting edge of new technology and innovation in the asbestos removal industry. We regularly take part in regional meetings with our trade association, ARCA, to discuss forthcoming legislation and industry “best practice”. This enables us to implement new techniques and technologies before their introduction via legislation and ensures we are always on the frontline for innovation.

Community Benefits

River Clyde Homes play a large part in supporting the community in which they operate. As a conscientious and community orientated contractor, Enviraz were delighted to assist them in a variety of programs in order to give back to the local community, and improve the lives of those living within the River Clyde Homes catchment area.

Enviraz strongly believe that investing in the local communities in which we operate helps build trust and confidence in our business activities. It was for this reason that Enviraz were happy to provide free asbestos awareness training to 12 long term unemployed individuals seeking employment within the River Clyde Homes catchment. During the training process, we were so impressed with the aptitude of a number of the attendees, Enviraz offered 5 of the job seekers permanent employment, which was gladly accepted. These individuals are now integral part of our Rive Clyde Homes / Inverclyde team and gives them an opportunity to work within their local community and share their knowledge and experience with others from the region.

Enviraz are always willing to support local charities and improvement programs, and as part of our ongoing commitment to River Clyde Homes and their community, we were delighted to offer the following:

  • Over 100 Christmas Selection Boxes for under privileged children from the area
  • Over 100 Easter Eggs for children attending Easter holiday activity camp
